Plaistow Ifold and Kirdford Local History Society - Life in World War II

The re-established Ifold Local History Society, now re-named Plaistow Ifold and Kirdford Local History Society (PIK LHS) , have put together this exhibition to celebrate the lives of those who lived and worked in our three villages during the Second World War and for those who made the ultimate sacrifice and gave their lives

It was our intention to have an exhibition at the Maypole Fete, but due to the current pandemic this has been cancelled. The members of the History Society have continued, during this period of 'lockdown', to try and research material; but with very limited access to records it has proved difficult. We hope you will enjoy reading the information we have been able to gather and forgive any gaps or inaccuracies.

We have put this exhibition on the Parish Council website for all to read and we hope that in the future we will be able to have a more traditional exhibition in the Village Halls. But for the moment, if you are able, please do help to share with all those who may struggle with the technology.

The Society would very much welcome any feedback and any additional recollections, information, photographs and documents to add to our local archive and to share with the County Records Office. This can be about any part of our local history from any period of time - we are all still making history!
